International TESL Diploma

Our TESL program requires a higher level of English ability as reflected in the more challenging entrance requirements. The course uses the curriculum and textbooks approved by TESL Canada and approved as a vocational program under the
Private Career Colleges Act, 2005.

Once a student completes the International TESL Diploma, he/she is qualified to become a TESL Canada certified teacher : those  applicants  with no undergraduate degree at the time of completion of the NLTC TESL program will not qualify for the TESL Canada professional certification. Non-native language students will be required to sign a letter stating that they are entering the program with full knowledge that they will not be eligible for TESL Canada Certification without a valid English Language Proficiency (ELP) score. However, everyone who completes our TESL program will receive Northern Lights Training College TESL program diploma.
