This program will focus on written and spoken English in settings involving workplace, meetings (formal / informal), and other business-related interactions. The course will teach from basic etiquettes to complex patterns of speech used over the phone, in person, and in writing. It will also teach students how to read, listen, and speak effectively in a fast-paced working environment. Expectations

Because language is something that needs to be habitual, we expect that students not only participate in classes actively, but also make diligent efforts to incorporate the learned material into their daily lives. Even if the students are not already in a business-settings, they should be able to find a way to promote some formal interactions with others (writing cover-letters, getting in touch with school officials, etc.). This way, the ability to communicate professionally will be as a second nature to the students.
